Larry, a hearty thank-you for assembling all this info and maintaining such a worthy website. I am the great-great-great grandson of Isiah through BOTH of my maternal grandparents; John Slavens (son of Duke, and Grandson of Dr. John) and Dade Slavens (daughter of Luther, and granddaughter of Hiram). This, of course, makes my family tree somewhat cypress-like, and thoroughly dominated by the Slavens lineage.

Larry, what a great find; I greatly enjoyed your web site! I've been searching the Internet off and on for a year or more and just found your site quite by accident. My mothers maiden name is Slavens. My grandfathers name is Ralph Slavens. As best my mother can remember he was born in Mulberry(?), Kansas. His birth date is March 12, 1904. I have been unable to find anything except a death notice from a Social Security web site search. He died in 2000. My mother said she thinks his fathers name was Clyde and mother was Lyda(?). He had several brothers, Ted, Fred, Raymond, Roy? (more?)and one sister Mabel. I noticed that there are pictures of Orin Clyde and Mabel on your site. Were they husband and wife? There are some similarities in the names and locations of the families. I'm hoping you may know something about Ralph and his brothers/sister that you can share with me. My current web site (address above) doesn't have any geneological information about my family, but it is one of my goals to build a site in the future that will contain as much as I can gather and post. You have done a great job of providing some family history (even if it turns it it's not mine) and you deserve congratulations! Gary
