SIX-YEAR-OLD CHILD IS HOLDER OF RECORD.

NEW YORK, Aug. 29.--Hats off to the youngest athlete In the world. He is 6-year-old Francis Slevin, Jr., the son of the present champion sock-runner, and is ready at all times to meet all comers around his own age in any kind of an athletic contest.

In addition to being a sprinter of some note, holding the record for his age at twenty-five yards in five seconds, Baby Francis is an expert at jumping, hurdling, swimming, skating, weight throwing and boxing. He is also proficient in playing baseball.
