PITTSBURGH (AP)-- Up in Elk county, of the northwestern Pennsylvania big game country there is a deer carrying a gun. Deputy Sheriff John Slavin sheepishly told friends the gun was his. Slavin fired at the handsome 12-point buck and it toppled over. Thinking it was dead, the hunter started to tie a tag on his prize. He stacked his gun on the animal's antlers to facilitate matters. As though that was just what the wily buck was waiting for, it sprang up and fled-- plus the gun.
