RUTHERGLEN, Wednesday - Mr. J. Slaven, sen., of Springhurst, was the victim of an attack by his own dog on Sunday. The animal was let off the chain to go after some cattle, when it attacked a little grandchild, who is visiting Mr. Slaven. Mr. Slaven got the dog away before the child was hurt, but the brute attacked him, and made several nasty lacerations on his arm. The dog was promptly destroyed.
