Convicts Get Away From Kentucky Penitentiary

Frankfort, Ky., September 11-- Joseph Sheer and Frank Smith, murderers, and Charles Slaven and Charles Shannon, burglars, and Frank Bevins, a horse thief, secreted tools in their cells in the penitentiary and at 8 o'clock last night they broke the locks on their cells and escaped. Before leaving the cellroom they secured rifles, shotguns, and revolvers from the day guard's armory. They climbed the north wall of the prison enclosure.
