ILLEGAL ENTRY CHARGE FACED.

Canadian Couple Under Arrest.

Taken into custody yesterday morning by Reno police on a charge of illegally entering this country, a couple identified as Harry Slavin, 30. and his wife, Margaret, 25, are being held for immigration authorities.

Both are residents of Canada, it was stated, although Slavin gave his home as Oakland, Calif. Slavin has a long record of crime in this country, police said, having once served time in Leavenworth, Kan., and Atlanta, Ga., prisons for car theft. He has been deported twice before, police stated, and is at present sought in Toronto, Canada, for car theft there.

Pending federal action, the couple are being held at Washoe county jail.

Prior to arrest, Mrs. Slavin has been living at a Nevada St. address under an assumed name. Her husband joined her here recently, it is stated, and has been employed by a furniture company.
