John C. Raymond, of 1108 Columbia avenue, was before Magistrate Milligan on the charges of obtaining money under false pretences from Mrs. Slavin, of 413 South Eleventh street. It is alleged that Raymond, together with another man, sent a letter to Mrs. Slavin, telling her that her daughter was sick and needed funds. Raymond was held on $500 bail for a further hearing on Saturday.
