Mrs. Elva Slavens, 62 years old, R.F.D. No. 1, Hillsboro, died Saturday morning at 8:45 o’clock at Culver hospital where she had been critically ill since suffering a stroke of apoplexy.
Born March 19, 1882, Mrs. Slavens was the daughter of Isaac and Florence Rice, and the wife of Hiram Slavens. In recent years she had resided southwest of Waynetown. Previously she lived at Brown’s Valley.
The body was taken to the Grenard & Servies funeral home in Waynetown where friends pay their respects preceding the rites. Services will be at the Brown's Valley Baptist church, with the time to be announced later.
