George N. Slavens, 67 years old, died at 7:10 o'clock Friday evening at the residence of a son, Charles, 2243 South First Street. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Cora Thompson, Mrs. Edith Payton, and Mrs. Pearl Lampton, all of Terre Haute; three sons, Charles, Everett and George, the latter two in the United States Army; one sister, Mrs. Essie Robinson; two brothers, William and Edger, both of this city; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body was taken to the Gillis Memory Chapel. The body will be returned to the residence of a sister, Mrs. Essie Robinson, 621 Lafayette avenue, Saturday evening. At noon Monday the body will be returned to the Gillis Memory Chapel from where funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
