Final rites for James Roy Slaven, 80, Marlinton, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Marlinton, with the Rev. Herbert M. Pennington Jr., pastor of the Marlinton Methodist Church, in charge.
Burial will be in Ruckman Cemetery.
Slaven died in Nella's Nursing Home, Elkins, at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Death was attributed to a stroke. He had been in ill health 10 months.
Born at Mill Point Oct. 9, 1880, he was a retired State Highway Department worker and a member of Marvin Chapel Methodist Church. He had never been married.
He is survived by one brother, Guy W. Slaven, San Antonio, Texas.
The body will remain at the funeral home. (RNS)
