RIGHTS IN RAVENNA FOR JOHN SLAVEN.
He Served in Council 10 Years in Two Periods.

RAVENNA, Ohio. Dec. 4-- Funeral services for John A. Slaven, 76, former Ravenna city councilman, and a retired 51-year veteran of the A. C. Williams Co.. will be held here at 9:30 a. m. Thursday.

Mr. Slaven died yesterday in. St. Thomas Hospital, Akron. He. was taken there Thanksgiving Day after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage. He was bom in this city and lived here until five years ago, when he moved to Akron to make his home with his son, Dr. Paul Slaven, a dentist.

He was a councilman 10 years, serving from 1921 to 1925 and from 1925 to 1935. He joined the A. C. Williams. Co. in 1893 and retired because of ill health in 1944 after 51 years of continuous service. He was assistant superintendent of the company for 18 years.

Active in the affairs of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here, he served on its council for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge in Ravenna.

His son, a brother William of Ravenna, and a sister, Mrs. Allie Reynolds of Warren, survive.
