MRS. MAUDE SLAVENS DIES TODAY AT THE HOSPITAL.

Mrs. Maude Slavens passed away early Wednesday morning at the Putnam County Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Slavens was born Dec. 7, 1889 in Asheville, N. C. She resided at 23 East Berry street in Greencastle. The deceased was a member of the Portland Mills Christian church.

Survivors are four sons, Carl, Reelsville, Harold, Glenn, Lloyd, all of Indianapolis; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Cline, Cloverdale R 2, Mrs. Hazel Spaulding, Indianapolis, Mrs. Norma Walton, Brazil, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, at home; one brother, Harold Gibbs of Milligan; a sister, Florence Killion, Fresno, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Grace Gibbs, Russellville; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Whitaker Funeral Home in Greencastle. The Rev. Kyle M. Miller will be in charge. Interment will be in Forest Hill cemetery .
