She Expires In New Orleans on Her 79th Birthday.

Sister Agnes Slavin, for 40 years the superior at the New Orleans Charity Hospital, died in that city yesterday, a dispatch from New Orleans states. It was her birthday and she was 79 years old. She has been 63 years a member of the Sisters of St. Vincent de Paul.

She had visited Baltimore many times, having lived in Emmittsburg, Md., before she went to Louisiana. Some years ago she started a new province of the order in St. Louis. Two years ago when the Charity Hospital was reorganized, she returned to Maryland, only to return to New Orleans to take charge of the nursing at Louisiana Retreat, with Sister Mary Agnes. She had been ill for some time.
