Timothy Slaven Died Friday; Rites Monday.

Fenton-- Funeral services for Timothy Joseph Slaven were held Monday at 9:30 a. m. at St. Michael's Catholic church, Whittemore, with burial in the Catholic cemetery there.

Mr. Slaven passed away Friday, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Racobs, after a lingering illness.

He was born June 12, 1878, at Rippey, la. On Feb. 6, 1907, he was united in marriage at West Bend to Ellen Buttemore. Seven children were born to this union, all surviving. They are: Eugene and Joseph, Kansas City, Mo.; Donald, Laurens, la.; Emmet of Fenton, and Mrs. Rita Racobs of Fenton; Mrs. Florence Wilfong, Fort Dodge; and Margaret, Long Beach, Cal. Mr. Slaven moved to Palo Alto county in 1901, and farmed as long as his health permitted. His wife passed in 1939.

Two sisters, Mrs. D. H. Mahoney and Mrs. Mamie Streff, Ft. Dodge, also survive. Mr. Slaven was a member of the Emmetsburg Knights of Columbus.
