I descend from a McLean family from St. Andrews, QC. My ancestor John McLean apparently died leaving his widow Margaret/Margerry Cameron/Carman who then married a Slaven. Two of my 3rd great aunts are listed as Slavens - Eliza b. abt 1841 and Margaret b. 1844. The are also listed at times as McLeans. I have been trying to locate this family in Quebec. My own great great grandmother was a Jannet McLean b. 1826/1830 (other siblings included Kate, Duncan b. 1819, and John). I recently located the 1851 census of St. Andre, Argenteuil, QC. It lists a Marg. Slaven b. abt 1806 with various McLean children. I am trying to determine if this is my family. Any help with this family would be appreciated.
