My James Slaven was born ca 1832 at Straiton, Ayr Scotland(I believe that Straiton is in the Maybole area). He married Mary Muir in Kirksdale, Ayr just out of Straiton, on 3 June 1854.

He arrived in South Australia 20 Sept in 1858 and had a family of 7 children.

From his records in South Australia James father was named Thomas Slaven.

So far I havent been able to connect to any siblings or parents. Do you have any connection to this line?

Would be very interested in hearing from you. My Slaven cousin has just been diagnosed with cancer and has been given 6 months 12 if he is lucky. I will be doing up a book specially for him on the research I have done to date on his family.

It would be great if I could find siblings and go back more generations to add to the information I already have
