How did a Slaven family get to Franklinton, Louisiana? There is some land that has been in the family for a few generations. My husband is the grandson of Melvin Slaven, who lives in Lake Charles, La. with his wife Willie. He moved from Franklinton years ago, but still has a brother on the land whose name I don't know.
