At the Sheriff Court, Dunfermline, yesterday, James Slaven, miner, Denend, was convicted of having while in company with a companion assualted Mr. Jas. S. Stenhouse of Fod, Dunfermline. Accused had been found on Mr. Stenhouse's lands, and on being asked to leave he became outrageous and threatened to do for Mr. Stenhouse with a large stone. Sentence of fourteen days imprisonment was imposed. Slaven was also bound down to keep the peace for six months under a penalty of £3.
