Thomas Slavin was asleep on Exchange Place Tuesday, and because Officer Sherman roused
him, he got mad and tried to chew off two of the officer's fingers. One of the fellow's
incisors penetrated nearly to the bone, and the officer for some time will remember his
cannibalistic prisoner, who was locked up at the Central Station and paid $5 and costs
