San Francisco, Dec. 9-- The badly mangled dead body of a man was found today in an
excavation made by quarrymen on Telegraph Hill. It is believed that death was caused
by an accidental fall, as there was no evidence of foul play.
In the man's pockets were found $3.80 in silver and a poll tax receipt issued to Peter Slevin at Anacortes, Wash., on June 3, 1905.
This paper is thought to establish the identity of the deceased, who apparently was a Swedish sailor.
