(Stateman's Special Oregon Service) PRINEVILLE, ORE. July 3-- Charles Slavens, who was confined to jail at Prineville awaiting trial on a charge of horse stealing, effected an escape early in the week and has not yet been found. He had the assistance of someone on the outside in getting out. The bars to the steel cage were sawed off, enabling the prisoner to escape.
Slavens is described as a man five feet eight and half inches in height and weighs 130 pounds.
