TWO PERSONS FOUND AT STAIR BOTTOMS; BOTH WERE DEAD FROM THEIR FALLS.
Frank Butler and Mrs. Hannah Slavin Meet Death in the Same Manner on the Same Day.

Frank Butler, thirty years old, of 2564 William street, was found dead at the bottom of a staircase in his home yesterday. It is presumed that he fell downstairs and broke his neck.

Mrs. Hannah Slavin, of 1201 Dickinson street, was found dead at the foot of the stairs of her house yesterday. Her neck was broken.

Butler was last seen alive on Thursday night. He had evidently been drinking.

Mrs. Slavin's sister missed her from their room and went in search of her in the darkness. At the foot of the stairs she encountered an object, which proved to be Mrs. Slavin's body. The unfortunate woman had evidently stumbled at the head of the staircase and fallen to the bottom.

Mrs. Slavin was a widow.

In Butler's case, it is believed he had been drinking.

The Coroner will hold an inquest in both cases. The two unusual fatalities on the same day mark a record of that sort of accident in this city.
