A Dutiful Son-- Peter Slavin was brought up for having assaulted his mother, Sophia Slavin, and Constable William McFarland. This is the prisoner's twenty-sixth appearance. He has been convicted of a variety of offenses, including the usual "drunk and disorderly," threatening his father, beating his mother, and attacking the police.
The prisoner's mother did not appear to press the charge against him, but the assault on the constable was fully proven, and a fine of 20s with costs was imposed, or in default, imprisonment for one month.
