GOODBYE, GENTLEMEN,
Sang Out James Slavin as He Dropped Through the Trap.

Cornwall, Ont., December 16.-- James Slavin, alias MacMahon, was executed here this morning for the murder of Captain Davey. He met death cooly. Before he dropped he sung out "Goodbye, gentlemen."

The crime for which he was executed was the killing of Constable J. R. Davey on September 5th last. Slavin was twenty-four years old and was a native of this town, his father being a pensioner of the British government, having been through the Crimean and Chinese wars.
