I wish to state for the benefit of the public that I belong to no ring, and that I will
let anybody have the jail that wishes to run it that has more moeny than I have. I cannot
afford to board prisoners when the county refuses to pay for them. I will also state that
I am no county bank, and furthermore would like Supervisor O'Dea of anybody else to show
me where I have defrauded the county one farthing, or ever tried to.
Yours &c,
Michael Slavin.
