Life and daeth visited in the home of John P. Slavin yesterday at 147 Georgetown street. The unusual occurrence of a burial of a child and the birth of a child in a home came when Mrs. Joanna Slavin, wife of Fireman Slavin, gave birth to a fourteen-pound boy and on the same day, Thomas L. Slavin, son of Fireman Slavin, was buried from his home. The child had died of scarlet fever. He was a grand nephew of the late Thomas Lyons, whose name he bore.
