Executive Clemency Refused-- The Condemned Man Calm and Unaffected.

OTTAWA, Dec. 7.-- The Governor General in council has declined to grant executive clemency to Slavin, the Cornwall murderer. Accordingly he will be executed on the 16th inst.

CORNWALL, Dec. 7.-- James Slavin, whose execution is set down for December 16th, still maintains the calm exterior he presented on the day of his trial and sentence to death. He says he believes when a man leaves this world of grief and tears he has nothing to account for, and though he listens to the ministers who attend him, their endeavors appear to be ineffectual. Slavin declares the story of his being a cowboy and desperado to be all rot.
