Police officer Patrick Slavin, of Moynmensing, who was murderously assailed and mortally wounded by a gang of dastardly desperadoes, in Catherine street near Tenth, on Monday night, lingered until about two o'clock yesterday afternoon, when death put an end to his suffering. The Coroner will investigate this deplorable case this morning. The murderers are yet at large. The distress of the unfortunate officer's family is of the most agonizing character.
