John Slavens, an employee of the Stock Yards Co., met with a very serious accident about two o'clock the other afternoon in the Cyprus yards at Kansas City, Kan. He was riding on a box car that was being set out on a side track, when he fell from the top onto the tracks. The wheels passed over his left leg just below the knee, crushing it badly.
