Orange, Texas, Oct. 19-- George Stephenson, a farmer and stockman 47 years old, residing about 14 miles north of Orange in Newton County, was probably mortally wounded late Tuesday afternoon at his home when threee loads of buckshot took effect in his body.
Red Slaven, 41 years old, who had made his home with the Stephensons for the past four years, was arrested this morning in connection with the shooting. Stephenson's right arm was almost severed at the shoulder, the left arm at the elbow, while three buckshots penetrated the left breast and stomach.
