Henry Slavins, a deserter from Company D, Fifteenth United States Infantry, was arrested yesterday afternoon, at the corner of Washington and New Jersey streets, by Constables Holmes and Cook and turned over to Maj. A.L. Varney, commandant at the United States Arsenal. This is the second time Slavins has deserted his company.
