Yesterday three lads, named Patrick Clegg, 13 years, John Jones, 11, and Michael Slaven, 10, were brought before the Halifax Bench charged with absconding from the Bradford workhouse. About eleven o'clock on Tuesday night the prisoners were met with in Brighthouse, and in reply to a policeman they stated they were without parents, and were going to Huddersfield. They were taken to the police-station, and on examination of their clothes were found to bear the mark of the Bradford workhouse. The bench ordered their return to the workhouse.
