William Slavin, residing at No. 139 Smith street, became enraged in a quarrel with his wife yesterday, during which he struck her over the head with a plate, inflicting a severe wound. He was arrested and locked up in the Third Precinct Station-house, and the injured woman was cared for at the Long Island College Hospital.
