Rites Saturday for Ada Slavens

Mrs. Ada Slavens, who resided at 43 Jackson Boulevard, passed away in the Putnam County Hospital at 6:15 Wednesday evening. She had been admitted to the hospital on Monday.

Mrs. Slavens born September 13, 1884, in Marion township, the daughter of William and Ida Cox Newman. She was married to Homer Slavens in 1913, and he preceded her in death in 1964.

She was a member the Clinton Falls Methodist Church and the Clinton-Madison Friendly Club.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Burnside and Mrs. Eva Blotch, Greencastle; one brother, Cecil Newman, Greencastle, R. 1; one sister, Mrs. Oran Buis, Greencastle; seven grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. One son, Robert Slavens, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 this evening.
