Webmaster's note: Another case of the surname spelling in the headline and story disagreeing. We're going with Slavin as it's spelled that way four times in the story.

MRS. JAMES SLAVEN.

We regret having to record the death of Mrs. James Slavin, late of Growther, who died at her home on September 21, after a long and painiful illness, aged 70 years. She was buried in Marengo Catholic cemetery on September 23. Father Bailey, of Burrawa, officiating; at the graveside. The mourners were Mrs. O. M'Grath (Mandurama) , Mrs. Thomas Hyde (Crowther), Mrs. T. Lynch (Koorawatha), Mrs. Dave Dhite (Canowindra), and Mrs. John Walsh (Kandos). The above are all daughters of deceased. Messrs. Joseph and James Slavin, of Crowther, and Mr. Edward Slavin, of Nyngan, are sons of deceased, and Messrs. Con and Patrick Fogarty, of Burrowa, brothers.

Mrs. John Walsh visited her mother a fortnight before she died, and stayed with her to the last, returning to Kandos on September 25.
