Charles A. Slavens.

FOWLER-- Charles A. Slavens, 69, of Fowler, died in Lafayette Home hospital at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday where he had been a patient for two weeks.

Born in Romney, he resided in the Fowler community 45 years. He was a member of Mt. Gilboa church and K of P Lodge 213. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving with his widow are seven sons, John R. Slavens of Tucson, Ariz.; Roy Slavens of Delphi, Densil H. Slavens and Paul A. Slavens, both of Lafayette, James A. Slavens of Indianapolis, Steve Slavens and Ralph Slavens, both of Fowler; one brother, Roy E. Slavens of Lafayette; four stepbrothers, Howard Acheson of California, Scott Acheson and Floyd Acheson, both of Lafayette, and Roy Acheson of Valparaiso; one sister, Mrs. Martha Thomas of Indianapolis; and one stepsister, Mrs. Iona Banta of Winslow.
