C. J. Slavens Of Laddonia Area Dies.

LADDONIA—Funeral services for Clarence J. Slavens, 71, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Laddonia Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. W. Maxwell officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. T. Pulis. Burial will be in Laddonia Cemetery.

Mr. Slavens died unexpectedly this morning at his farm four miles west of Laddonia.

He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Slavens and was born in the Laddonia community May 22, 1885. He was a lifelong resident of this area. He was married in 1930 to Miss Della Talbott, who survives.

Other survivors are a brother, Dean Slavens Of Farber; and three sisters, Mrs. John Plante, Benton City, and Mrs. Everett Pearl and Mrs. William Gilbert, both of Laddonia. Two brothers, Fletcher and Edwin Slavens, preceded him in death.

The remains will be taken from the Wilkey-Beinhoff Funeral Home to the family residence at 7 o'clock tonight.
