Mrs. Dora Slaven, age sixty-nine years, widely known Plainville woman, was found dead Friday morning sitting in a chair. Death was attributed to heart trouble.
Mrs. Slaven made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Lou Nowling, and her lifeless body was discovered by Mrs. Nowling about 10:30 o’colck. Mrs. Slaven had got up in her usual manner Friday morning and was sitting by herself in a room of the home at the time death came.
Mrs. Slaven was born January 11, 1857 in Kentucky. Her husband died about 36 years ago. She is survived by the following children: Theodore Slaven of Washington; Nimrod SIaven of Pleasantville; Harry Slaven of Elnora; Mrs. Eva Powell of near Plainville and Mrs. Lou Nowling with whom she made her home.
The funeral services were held Sunday at Plainville and burial was made in the cemetery at that place.
