St. Charles, Minn.-- (Special)-- Funeral services for Mrs. Francis Slavin, 88, who died at the home of her son, Ralph Slavin, St. Charles, Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., following an illness of four months, were conducted at the Saratoga church at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. R.V. Strand of the Chatfield Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Saratoga cemetery. Pallbearers were four grandsons, George, Ralph, William and Joseph Slavin, and two nephews, William Mann, Winona, and Lawrence Thompson, Saratoga.
Mrs. Slavin was born December 16, 1861, in Troy, Minn., the daughter of Job and Julia Thompson, and had resided in St. Charles her entire life. She was married January 16, 1888.
Mr. and Mrs. Slavin farmed near St. Charles until the marriage of their son, George, in 1919. From that time until ten years ago, the family operated the Troy store. Mr. Slavin died in 1934. Mrs. Slavin resided with her son George and family after retiring from the operation of the store.
Survivors are one son Ralph, four grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. George died three years ago.
