OAK HILL -- Garnet Cosby Slaven, 91, of 1512 Oak Forest Road, Oak Hill, died Feb. 7, 1990, in Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, after a long illness.
He was a retired professor from West Virginia Tech, and a former teacher at Oak Hill with 30 years' service. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving: wife, Masil Crawford Slaven; son, Patrick of Oak Hill; daughter, Sue Thomas of Stoughton, Mass.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
