Harold L. Slavens, 79, Indianapolis, died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born July 17, 1917 in Greencastle, he was the son of Charles and Maude (Gibb) Slavens.
Mr. Slavens was an oil tank driver for Associated Oil, Indianapolis, for 35 years. He was a member of the General Baptist Church, Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Helen W. O’Donald; three daughters, Virginia Frederick, Carolyn Hook and Rosemary Albertson; two sons, Harold L. Slavens Jr. and Clifford J. Slavens; two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Norma Walton; a brother, Lloyd Slavens; 13 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Flanner & Buchanan Speedway Mortuary. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is scheduled 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, 2950 N. High School Rd., Indianapolis.
