Homer Slavens Rites Wednesday

Homer Slavens, 70, well-known retired farmer of Clinton Township, passed away Sunday evening at 8 o’clock at the Donna Nursing Home in Gosport, where he was admitted last Friday. He had been in ill health for some time.

Mr. Slavens was born March 30, 1894, in Benton County, the son of Henry and Mary Cooper Slavens. He was a member of the Clinton Falls Methodist Church.

Surviving are the wife, Ada; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Blotch and Mrs. Helen Burnside, both of Greencastle; also seven grandchildren and one greatgrandson. He was preceded In death by one son, Robert, in October, 1963.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Hopkins-Walton Funeral Home. The Rev. Claude McClure will officiate. Burial will be in the Clinton Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
