DIED.-- In this city, Friday afternoon, November 23rd, 1883, Miss Jennie M. Slavens, aged about 43 years. Miss Slavens has been a resident of this city for the past fifteen years. She was at one time a teacher in the literary department at the Institution for the Education of the Blind, and at the time of her death was a teacher in the Everett Street school in this city. She was a young lady of considerable ability in her profession and was highly esteemed by her acquaintances. Her death was occasioned by being thrown from a buggy the Sunday previous to her death, an account of which was given in last week's Herald.
