J.W. SLAVEN PASSES AWAY

OPERATED FOR MANY YEARS IN NEVADA
Complications Following Pneumonia Were Responsible for His Demise.

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 19. - John W. Slaven, who was one of the best known cattle men in this state and also in Nevada, died today at his home here, aged 82. Complications following pneumonia caused his death.

Mr. Slaven was widely known throughout both states where he had operated extensively for many years.
