Mrs. Lucile Slavens died yesterday afternoon about 3:30 o'clock at the home of R. B. Campbell, 360 Third street northwest. Mrs. Slavens had come to the home of her sister-in-law about ten days ago from Riley, Ind., for a visit. Although she had been in failing health for some time, she took suddenly worse. Her death came as a shock to her husband, John H. Slavens.
Mrs. Slavens was born in Illinois August 23, 1892. She was 32 years of age. She leaves a son, Joseph Slavens, who is about 6 years of age.
The family has lived in Hanknkee, Ill., most of the time, but at the present time reside in Riley, Ind. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church at Kankakee, Ill. The body will be taken to Kankakee for burial. The funeral party will leave tonight on the 8:10 o'clock train over the Illinois Central road. Services will be held from St. Patrick's church, Kankakee, Friday morning.
