Maude Slavens

Mrs. Maude Slavens, wife Sheriff J.D. Slavens, passed away at 8:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, July 5, 1922, at the family home in Pineville. Her death was due to tuberculosis. The remains were laid to rest in the Pineville cemetery, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. Funeral services was conducted by R.W. Tener at the grave. Besides her husband, three children, ages 6, 9 and 12 years, survive her. The Herald extends sympathy to the bereaved.

Mrs. Maude Slavens, wife of Sheriff J.D. Slavens, died at the family home in Pineville, Wednesday, July 5, 1922, at the age of 32 years, 2 month and 5 days. Death was due to tuberculosis and followed a long illness.

She was married to J.D. Slavens in 1906. She is survived by her husband, three children, one boy and two girls, 6, 9 and 12 years old; her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Parson, three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 6, at the grave by R.W. Tener and burial was in the Pineville cemetery.

The Slavens family formerly lived in Anderson,having moved from here to Pineville about two years ago, and many friends here extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.
