WISTOW, Feb. 5.
Much regret was expressed in this district this morning when the sad news
arrived that Mr. Thomas Slaven had been accidentally killed whilst engaged in
cleaning out a well at Petersburg. Deceased, who was born in this district,
was the second son of the late Mr. James Slaven, of Wistow, and at an
early age was employed on the S.A. railways in Adelaide. After working there
for several years, he was transferred to Petersburg, where he continued working
until he met his untimely end. Much sympathy is felt for his family and re
latives. Messrs. J. and E.N. Slaven are brothers and Mrs. W. Davis a sister of
the deceased.
