William Foster Slaven, 49, of 104 Holly St., an ironworker, died Sunday at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gaynell Carter Slaven; 2 sons, William F., Jr., and Allen Eugene Slaven; two stepdaughters, Mrs. J. K. Woodlin and Mrs. June Williams; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Harris; one nephew, Ralph W. Harris, and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
