NASHVILLE — Word has reached here of the death of William G. Slevin, 88 years old, a veteran of the Civil War, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Samuel Fordyce at Edinburg. Mr. Slevin was found dead in bed. He was a farmer and active in politics, having been elected trustee of Hamblen township for two terms by the largest majority ever given a candidate on the Democratic ticket in Brown county. He is survived by the following children: Samuel Slevin of this county, Mrs. H.S. Moser of Nashville, Delia Fordyce of Edinburg, Cora Parsley of Great Falls, Mont.; James Slevin of Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands; Lewis Slevin, Great Falls, Mont., and Myrtle McIlvain of Franklin.
