Mrs. O. R. Slavens.

Mrs. Zoe Etta Slavens, widow of O.R. Slavens, died in Halstead hospital at 4:45 a.m. Monday. She had been in the hospital 1 1/2 years.

Mrs. Slavens was born March 31, 1868 in Hubbard, 0., and had lived in Hutchinson since 1899. The family home was at 122 East Sixth for 30 years but she lived at 1415 North Poplar a number of years before entering the hospital. Mr. Slavens died in 1930.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Albert S. Teed, 300 East 17th, and Mrs. Emerson Carey Jr., of Denver; a sister, Mrs. H. O. Peck of Pueblo; a brother, Frank Kuhn of Youngstown, O., and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Slavens was active in First Presbyterian church many years.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Johnson and Sons chapel with burial in Fairlawn cemetery. Rev. Melvin Pearce will officiate.
